Born and raised in B.C., Brad came to the Coast in 1979 by way of Kelowna. Spending the majority of his formative years within the community he has chosen to work in, Brad has a keen sense of what it takes to compliment an already beautiful environment.

Striking out on his own, he built his first spec home and formed Summerhill Investments in 1991, before becoming a Red Seal ticketed carpenter in 1995. Summerhill is a forerunner in the building community on the Sunshine Coast with three certified Passive House tradespeople on staff and a member of the Canadian Green Building Council, focusing on sustainability, architecture and performance.  

Perhaps Brad’s tenacity comes from his time in the boxing ring or from the many challenges he faced while fulfilling a lifelong dream of sailing the Pacific with his wife and 3 children from 2006-2008. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Brad rises to the occasion and subtlety guides his team to achieve their best.  A leader who is as happy to listen as he is to take the helm.

Since receiving a Bachelor of Political Science from McGill University in 1992, Dean has spent his working life leading and organizing groups in a variety of industries. Dean played an important role with the DFO in the late 90s, leading crews, and was a key part in the success of remote location fish counts. Dean’s construction career began as a youngster but took off on a professional level when he began building homes on the Coast in the late 90’s. For the past decade Dean has been taking the lead on a vast number of complex custom home projects that have earned him respect and credibility from the Summerhill team and the building industry on the Sunshine Coast as a whole. Dean’s ability to motivate others by example is undeniable and he is repeatedly recognized by project stakeholders as being instrumental in any build he is part of. Although Dean’s building accomplishments are considerable, it is his family that he points to when asked what he is most proud of. Watching Dean with his wife and 4 children as they surf, bike ride or ski together, you can see why.

Kyle brings a diverse background to the team, including hands-on construction experience, architectural education and project management expertise. Originally from southwestern Ontario, Kyle trained as a Red Seal Carpenter before deciding to pursue post-secondary education. Studying at the University of Waterloo, then Dalhousie University in Halifax, Kyle received a bachelor’s in Environmental Design in 2013. Since graduation, Kyle has found his passion in managing the construction process as a Construction Project Manager for industry-leading companies including Blackthorn Management, Novacom Building Partners and Summerhill. Kyle brings a fresh perspective and a unique skillset to his role as Project Manager, allowing him to effectively bridge the gap between the design and construction dialects. He quickly gains the confidence of all project stakeholders by communicating confidently and effectively, while promoting a collaborative, solution-based approach to his work. Kyle is a Certified Associate in Project Management (2014) and is currently pursuing full PMP designation.
